Are hair loss treatments just one big scam?
The hair loss industry is not one that inspires great
confidence in most people. I have to admit this is perfectly
understandable given the damage caused by the many rogues and
charlatans who have abused the trust of far too many vulnerable
people - people who have received worthless and even dangerous
products or advice in exchange for their hard earned cash. The
end result is the prevalance of a stigma that the industry is
hard pressed to shake off.
But is this perception really justified ...

Low Back Pain
About 85 percent of the population will experience disabling
low back pain at least once during their lives! That's almost
all of us. The problem is so bad that at any one time, according
to one researcher, 6.8% of the U.S. adult population is
suffering from an episode of back pain lasting more than two
weeks. That's a lot of bad backs. The estimated cost of this
problem in the U.S. is over $50 billion a year.
The standard medical approach to back pain varies depending on
the severity of the ...

Married To The Elliptical
This year my summer presented little in the way of extravagant
family vacations. For the past few months, my husband and I were
lucky enough to make it through the week without a
stress-induced, adult-sized meltdown and the weekends were a
source of refuge to recoup livelihood and lost sleep. Even so,
our last ditch effort to pull together an eventful excursion
materialized brazenly in the latter part of August. My husband
informed the office of his day off, I cancelled appointments,
mine and ...

Getting Rid Of Gallstones Naturally
The gallbladder is a small pear-shaped organ that sits on the
right side of our bodies just beneath the liver. Its primary
function is to store and secrete bile. Bile is a yellow-brown
fluid produced by the liver, which helps us digest fats. Our
liver produces up to three cups of bile a day. Our gallbladder
can store up to a cup of bile as it awaits a fatty meal.
When we eat, our gallbladder contracts and pushes bile into the
small intestines where it helps with the digestion of fats. Bile
is ...

Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Your Health by Cheryl Winter, M.S.,
R.D., R.N.
Overview:
While you know 'omega' as the last letter of the Greek alphabet,
and meaning, 'the end,' it is doubtful that you have heard the
end about 'omega-3 fatty acids.' In fact, you'll be hearing more
and more about this long-chain fatty acid and how important it
is to your health, and how American diets should be increased in
this nutrient. Isn't FAT a Four-Letter Word?'

Getting Your Wedding Guests to Save The Date
You are engaged - congratulations! Undoubtedly, immediately
after your friends and family squeal with delight over your

Pillow Cleaning for Healthy, Allergen Free Sleep
Do you think it is important for your family's hygiene to
regularly clean blankets and sheets, towels, bed and couch

cleaned recently contains high amounts of sloughed skin, mold
and mildew, fungus, dust mites and dust feces. Nobody wants to
sleep on that! Let's see how we can effectively clean our
pillows, depending on their material, and what tricks we can use
to ...

Protein - its place in your weight loss program.
Any food that we take into our bodies is composed of
macronutrients, micronutrients and water. The macronutrients
(macro = large) are protein, fat and carbohydrates; the
micronutrients (micro = small) are vitamins, minerals and trace
elements. Macronutrients provide the calories that provide
energy for life; micronutrients have no calories but are an
essential part of our diet. Without macronutrients we would
starve to death, without micronutrients we would die from health
deterioration. So, ...

Insomnia/Fatigue
Insomnia and fatigue are two sides of the same coin: if a
person is unable to sleep at night, they are usually fatigued
during the day. However, some people get eight to 12 hours of
sleep a night and still have fatigue.
The top part of the brain stem is called the mesencephalon, and
it determines our sleeping/waking patterns. The specific term is
the "mesencephalic reticular activating system" which is a
three-dollar phrase for 'top of the brain stem.' If the
mesencephalon is firing, you ...
